A harbor is a place of refuge where boats can take shelter from the stormy seas.

REDEMPTION

A harbor is a place of redemption where boats can be restored and made new.

RESURGENCE

But a harbor isn’t just a place for boats to come and stay. A harbor is also a place of resurgence, equipping small boats to go out and cross big oceans.

Those three functions of a harbor are also the three main priorities of our church as we work to bless the city where God placed us. Our vision is to be a place of refuge, redemption, and resurgence for The North Shore, all for the renown of Jesus Christ.

SUNDAY SERMON RECAP:

- Where true knowledge exists: there is grace and peace.

- Everyone has ups and downs in their faith: but God has given us everything we need to keep changing.

- It’s not our circumstances that need the biggest change: it’s our hearts and what they rely on.

- Our greatest need is to overcome our own sinful natures.

- We NEED to study JESUS deeply to experience change.

Our first sermon series of 2026 will be going through the book of 2 Peter.

In his second letter to the church Peter gives a call to active, diligent pursuit of holiness as a response to God’s promises, leading to a transformed life that reflects divine truth.

The church showed up today ready to work! Farm work day was a huge success! So much was cleaned, fixed, and organized after service today. Even the kids got in on the action!

*God’s warnings are real, but His invitation is greater.
-Even in judgment, He’s calling His people back to Himself—not to shame us, but to restore us.

*Repentance isn’t about appearances, it’s about surrender. -God isn’t after torn garments or perfect words—He wants transformed hearts.

*God restores what was lost and pours out His Spirit.
-The promise still stands: He restores the years, renews joy, and fills His people with His presence.

Jesus rescued us from our SIN NATURE -which made us children of wrath- and gave us a NEW HEART - which makes us children of God!

It’s Christmas Eve and we are so excited to celebrate as a church family tonight! We hope to see you there as we remember the promise of salvation being fulfilled in the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. ✨

*Ignoring the glory of God isolates us from his glory

- God complicates our lives when we try to be SELF-reliant
- If it doesn’t cost you; time-finances-convenience- then it’s not a sacrifice, and its not us depending on Christ
- When you withhold from God, He will withhold from you the blessings He has for you.

*Working for the glory of God welcomes his glory in our lives

- Jesus is our blessing.
- Draw near to God by reading his word. - you gain wisdom, confidence, strength.
- Now is the time to work for God, not when it’s easier or more convenient.
- If your service isn’t risky and costly, then it’s not reliant on His Spirit but self.

The vibes this week on the North Shore have been a little more cozy and cold than average. We hope you’re finding some time to grab a cup of coffee or cocoa with family and friends, and also taking moments throughout your day to connect with God in small quiet ways.

- sin destroys peace; with God and with others
- Jesus’ sacrifice allows us to receive the ultimate peace in our lives, because we are made right with God through him.

*Pursue peace with others

-Seek peace by asking forgiveness and extending forgiveness

Jesus refines you so that He can use you.

1. The person of refinement

- Jesus Refines Us Because We Cannot Refine Ourselves
Malachi exposes the deep inner impurity Israel couldn’t fix on their own. The law revealed the problem, but only Christ—our Refiner—can cleanse the heart and remove what we cannot remove ourselves.

2. The problem of refinement

- Trials Are God’s Refining Furnace for His Children
Because we are adopted sons and daughters, every circumstance—stress, sickness, conflict, relational tension—is something God intentionally uses to purify our faith, strengthen endurance, and shape Christlike character

3. The purpose of refinement

- The Purpose of Refinement Is Priestly Service
Christ purifies His people so they can offer pleasing worship and serve as a “kingdom of priests,” using their gifts in the body, living sacrificially, and ordering life according to Scripture. He refines us so He can use us.

Join us this Christmas Eve as we gather together to celebrate the fulfillment of God’s promise for a Savior. ✨

It was a beautiful night spending time together as sisters in Christ. Amazing food, great conversations and prayers, and so much joy and laughter in crafting some fun things together!

It’s more than just song… it’s praising together, reading His Word together, and being in fellowship together.

Come to church on Sunday, and worship God with us!

1. God invites our honest questions.

Like Habakkuk on the watchtower, we don’t hide our confusion — we bring it to God with expectant faith.

2. Our righteousness is received, not earned.

Hebrews reminds us that Jesus’ once-for-all sacrifice gives us confident access to God. We stand on His goodness, not our performance.

3. We live in the already/not-yet with endurance.

The victory is won, but the story isn’t finished. So we run with endurance, lay down the weights that hold us back, and live by faith until He returns.

Harbor: a place to find safety and rescue.

- Thankful that God has blessed this church and given us a place to glorify our Savior and find community together.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We all tend to believe that our sinful desires will lead to favorable results…

- Ignoring God’s Word can be SWEET at first, but turns BITTER

God will allow the bitter results of sin in our lives sometimes to remind us that His ways are always better.

We get so comfortable with God’s grace that we can ignore His voice in our lives.

But if we ignore Him, He will give us what we desire: the absence of His voice.
(400 years of silence were the result of Israel’s sin after this judgement in Amos)

Amos 9:11-15 - His promises are true: He never forsakes because of His steadfast love and He promised a solution: A SAVIOR

JESUS came to give us new desires and to end spiritual famine and provide us with a spiritual feast forever!

So many things to be thankful for during this season.

One of the things we are always thanking God for is this beautiful piece of land that we get to call home as a church.

So many beautiful moments happen here.

EXPECTING (Advent in the Minor Prophets) -

Long before Mary was expecting a child, Israel was expecting a Messiah. The one who would come to lead, shepherd, and save. As we enter the holiday season, what great things do you expect with the arrival of Jesus?

*All of mankind is on the same level — dead in our transgressions - Eph 2:1-3

- We can be alive physically, but dead spiritually
- Because God is holy and just… he holds all things accountable.
- The cross bears witness to the reality of God’s wrath

*BUT GOD* - Eph 2:4-7

- God’s mercy and love was greater than His wrath against you.
- God did not just cancel our debt, but He crowned you with glory.
- Our legacy: our impact on others by showing and sharing what God has given us.
- God’s good work in us is the only thing that will resound beyond the grave.

- God is honored when we deny our sinful desires and pursue His plan for us.

- Using addictive things and substances cause us to suppress the things in our soul that need to come up and be brought to the Lord.

- Light is meant to shine, not to be hidden.

Worship is corporate
- There are about 58 ‘being together’ passages in the Bible.
- Being together is a part of our worship
- Eph 5:18-20

There’s a huge difference between knowing Jesus and following Jesus.

He influenced the world by serving them…
We are called to follow Him and serve others.

*RECEIVE Jesus’ joyful service

-Do all these without complaining and without grumbling.
-His joy enabled Him to endure.
-Jesus is never ‘annoyed’ when we need Him.

*RENDER Jesus’ joyful service

-The more you complain, the more you cloud God’s presence in your life.
-Don’t only look out for your own interests, but look out for the interests of others.
-Serve your family first, so you can serve others effectively.

We hosted another beautiful event on the farm last night for our homeschool Farm Thursday classes ministry! It was a beautiful night celebrating kids from our community and spending time together.

We love using this beautiful property that God has blessed us with to host community events… there is something magical about Harbor North Shore at sunset, don’t you agree? 🧡

Work isn’t just what we do, it’s how we live out the gospel in real time. Whether it’s through redemption, witnessing, or spiritual warfare, our daily labor becomes sacred ground. Let’s not underestimate the eternal impact of faithfulness in the ordinary.

Last Sunday’s sermon focused on generosity: God calls the church to be generous with our time, talents, and treasures.

We are so thankful to have members who use all three of those things to serve our church and community on a regular basis!

- Learn until you’re moved to worship

A head full of theology, but a life not full of love and worship is not what Jesus wants of us. (Matthew 23)

- Learn until you’re filled with confidence and peace

When we take our eyes off Jesus and start to focus on the things of this world: we begin to sink. (Matthew 14)

- Learn until your heart is filled with hope

If we aren’t focused on God’s promise for eternity then we will be left hopeless by the things of this world that pass away.

- Learn about God’s faithfulness through other people

God’s glory is shown in diversity. When we gather we can see all the ways He is faithful to all the saints.
